The mark mixes the form of a sailing boat with a colibri, or hummingbird, creating a hybrid symbol that connects movement on water with the quick, lightweight character of the bird. Instead of showing a yacht and bird as separate illustrations, the idea is to make them read as one object. That gives the sailing identity more personality and makes it easier to remember. It may be an older piece, but the visual trick still holds up  half boat, half bird, and thankfully no confused feathers in the rigging.
